Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Claims
In 2004, a child died from strangulation after getting caught between the seat and tray of a stroller. Since this incident occurred, numerous recalls for certain stroller models that pose a risk to babies and small children have been recalled. This is why parents, nannies, babysitters and any other person taking care of a child must exercise caution when using a stroller, as all kinds of accidents can happen even if the stroller is not defective.
More recently, a Central Florida father and pastor took a walk with two of his children in a stroller when the stroller rolled into a canal while the kids were still strapped inside.
The father jumped into the canal and tried to keep the stroller above water until help could arrive.
Both of the children required CPR after being pulled out. One of the children remains in critical condition.
Police claim the man looked away for a minute when the tragic accident occurred.
While most potentially hazardous baby and child strollers have been recalled, some of these may still be in use. Even if you do not have a recalled baby stroller, you should keep the following safety tips in mind when out with a baby or child.
