New Port Richey Pedestrian Death Lawyer :: Justin Bieber’s Ferrari Involved in the Death of Paparazzo

A paparazzo was struck and killed by a car Tuesday after attempting to snap pictures of Justin Bieber’s white Ferrari during a traffic stop on New Year’s Day.

According to a CNN report, the accident occurred on the evening of Jan. 1 after California Highway Patrol stopped Bieber’s Ferrari for speeding on the 405 Freeway.
Bieber was not inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. His friend was actually behind the wheel of the Ferrari.

The paparazzo, 29, apparently parked his vehicle across the street from where the Ferrari was stopped, and crossed traffic lanes on foot in order to get a close up shot of Bieber’s car and the occupants.

Officers claim they asked the man twice to return to his car.

The man was struck and killed by a SUV as he was crossing the street to get back to his vehicle.

The driver of the SUV apparently stayed at the scene. There is no evidence indicating that the woman was operating her vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

CNN captured this statement made by 18-year-old Bieber:

‘While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.’
‘Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.’

Paparazzo

This is not the first time Bieber’s car has been chased by the paparazzi. In July, a group of photographers followed Bieber’s speeding car down a freeway, passing a
Los Angeles city councilman, Dennis Zine, a reservist on the LAPD.

The councilman claims he witnessed Bieber making abrupt lane changes, not using his signals and cutting off cars, and still the paparazzi remained on Bieber’s trail.
Zine said he was expecting a deadly collision to ensue.

While no accident occurred, Zine contacted the highway patrol who issued Bieber a speeding ticket and slapped the paparazzo with reckless driving.

Zine is known for supporting tough measures against the dangerous behaviors of paparazzi. It will be interesting to see how this tragic accident influences new legislation.

Every year across the United States roughly 110,000 pedestrians are injured in traffic accidents. Of those injured, nearly 60,000 die as a result of their injuries. Negligent drivers are often the cause of the majority of pedestrian accidents resulting in severe injuries and death.

Pedestrian accidents frequently arise from reckless or careless driving actions, including:

  • Inattentive or Distracted Motorists using their cell phones to talk or text
  • Speeding Motorists
  • Careless Driver’s Failing to Yield to Pedestrians at a Crosswalk
  • Driver’s Executing Illegal or Improper Turns
  • Impaired Motorists Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol

Despite where the accident took place, in order to file a personal injury or wrongful death claim, it must be demonstrated that the negligent actions of the driver actually caused the accident. While pedestrian accidents are often automatically viewed as the fault of the driver, this is not always the case. Pedestrians, just like drivers, are expected to follow the laws of the road.
