A Spring Hill man died earlier this month after he was involved in a head-on crash with a school bus.

The crash happened June 3 at 2:21 p.m. on Elgin Boulevard, just east of Sterling Hill Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old Spring Hill man was driving west on Elgin Boulevard when he failed to get past a curve in the roadway.

His 2001 Ford Mustang journeyed into the eastbound lane of Elgin Boulevard and crashed head-on with a Hernando County School District bus.

The man was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital, where he passed away that night from his injuries.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries. No other passengers were harmed. No children were riding on the school bus at the time.
