16-Month-Old Boy Rushed to Hospital After Nearly Drowning in Spring Hill Pool

A 16-month-old boy was hospitalized Tuesday after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool in the Sterling Hill community.

Paramedics from the Hernando County Fire Rescue and Spring Hill Fire Rescue responded to the Spring Hill home just before 5 p.m. and rushed the boy to Oak Hill Hospital.

As of now, no additional information regarding the boy’s condition is available.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 10 people across the U.S. die in drowning accidents every day. Of these deaths, every two are children under the age of 15.
